Recorded before and during lockdown, Yesterday Tomorrow and You is a survival handbook for the future in four chapters.
Two and a half years in the making, BOO’s fourth studio album is their largest work to date at 16 tracks, yet their powerful synthpop remains undiluted, full of the offbeat, catchy songwriting and unique, analogue synth sounds that have made their previous works so well-loved.
The sonic range of Yesterday Tomorrow and You is impressive. It’s rock, dance, goth, glam and at it’s heart, pop. Sharp, inventive percussion, a vintage analogue pulse, odd time signatures and well-observed lyrics keep it all fresh. There are genuinely exciting moments when you feel like jumping up and down and shouting the lyrics out your window then unexpected, touching heartache. It is the end of the world after all.
The handmade packaging, designed by the band, looks and feels like a carefully studied and well-loved library book. In spite of being protected by a stiff black leatherette sleeve (limited to 100) the cover is scarred, torn and annotated by unknown hands. Within lies a 24 page booklet full of ominous symbols, cryptic diagrams and the multi-layered lyrics.
***Please note the leatherette version is sold out!***
